First I want to say a very Merry Christmas to everyone! We are seeing a quite picture out there, with some nice fresh snow this morning. But clear skies mean dropping temperatures, especially with the fresh snow on the ground. So Santa made need an extra layer along with anyone who is planning to head outside!
The snow, rain and mix precip has caused quite a mess across the country! Travelers are spending not just one night but two nights in some airports. I have to admit I know the frustration of traveling as well and can’t imagine how upset some of these people are to be missing where they should be for the holiday. Over 500 flights were canceled at O’Hare yesterday and 100 today. On the roadways across the country over 30 people were killed on the slick roads. In the train world over 600 passengers waited for up to 22 hrs.
In our area we will see a very nice Christmas in store. No problems tonight as Santa makes the rounds and beautiful weather to enjoy with the family. It won’t last long though…by tomorrow night clouds return with snow likely Thursday night into Friday and Saturday.
Right now the slam of storms we have been experiencing may be a thing of the past. The models for the end of the week and early next week look quiet. Maybe we can finally see a little break!
