Alright I have always had a fascination for the Titanic. For me I think it is intriguing that just a 100 years ago that is the way people had to travel the world. How far we have come in the past century. When I was in Ireland I went to Cobh, known back then as Queenstown, which was the last port call of the Titanic on April 11th 1912. It was there that 123 passengers boarded the ship on her way to America. I wanted to go the city because this is where most people who emigrated from Ireland left from, if you couldn’t guess I am Irish!
While browsing around I found an interesting place where you can quiz your knowledge on the history of the Titanic. See how good you can do! I have to say there are some difficult questions.
On another note the Discovery Network is making an impact in online science news with there new launched website Discovery News. On their main page tonight is a story about the remains of a Persian army thought to have drowned over 2500 years ago! They also have a story about where the Berlin Wall went, it was 90 miles of concrete! As the story says, large chunks were given away or other people took it for their own use. Some of it was grounded up and junked or used for building materials. It’s an interesting twist to the 20th anniversary.
