Be careful on the roadways today. Freezing rain and drizzle have fallen in the southern half of the area this morning and caused very slick roadways. Snow is falling in the northwoods and it will accumulate to the tune of 3 to 5 inches north of highway 8. Central Wisconsin could end up with a half inch or so this afternoon. Because of the freezing rain and snow, the NWS has issued a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY in effect until noon. Drive slow. Don’t get into an accident. The roads are icy.
And unfortunately, that is all the time I have for today because I have a weather presentation to attend in Antigo. I have to leave early in order to drive slow and avoid accidents.
Have a nice Monday! Meteorologist Justin Loew
