I am usually really bad at twitter, I just forget to use it! Today, however, I was a twitter fanatic. You can check out my account here and add me, kconnolly_waow. While on twitter today I saw some interesting tweets so I am going to do a montage tonight of tweets!
I saw a tweet of a picture of a frozen Britain. The picture is amazing, it was taken by NASA. If you check out the article you can click on the picture to the right. It states that Scotland is seeing there worse winter in 50 years! Temps dropped to -18, I am assuming Celsius since the article comes from Europe!
On a whole different subject I read an article that was tweeted about airport restaurants doing quite well from all the delays. I know this is not exactly related to weather but weather sure plays a huge role in the delays. In the article they said during layovers, especially extended, people turn to the kiosks for something yummy. It also stated a few interesting facts that I never thought of. The first is that most people plan for extra time now with heightened security so most people end up having extra time to spend. The second, since the airlines don’t offer food on planes like before that many resturants are providing more grab and go options for people to take on the plane helping boost their businesses.
Have a great night! Meteorologist Kristen Connolly
